Zoysia Sod from Long Island Sod Company
Zoysia is quickly becoming one of the most popular lawn choices on Long Island. Its dense, carpet-like texture and deep green color give homes and commercial properties a polished, country-club look.
Zoysia handles heat and drought well, which makes it a smart choice for sunny yards and hot Long Island summers. It grows slowly upward, so it needs less frequent mowing, and it stands up to foot traffic, pets and play.
Zoysia goes dormant and turns tan earlier in the fall and greens up later in spring than cool-season grasses, so it is best for full-sun lawns where heat tolerance matters most. We will tell you honestly whether it fits your yard.
We source premium Zoysia from regional growers and guide you through soil prep, installation, and a watering and care plan matched to how Zoysia roots.

“We started a front yard renovation this spring and did not want to wait for seed to grow, so we called LI Sod for a price quote. Matt was extremely generous in sharing the trade secrets with a homeowner, which took away any doubts we had about taking this on ourselves. Matt was available via text, the price was better than I ever expected and the whole process was simple. NO SURPRISES!! We started at 8:30 and had a 1200 sf beautiful Kentucky bluegrass lawn by 1.”
“Called a handful of sod companies and Long Island Sod really came through! Price was the best and the sod was excellent quality. Emily and Matt always picked up the phone when I needed them. Highly recommend them!”
