Every job starts with a look at grading, drainage and soil. We remove old grass and debris, level the site, and add topsoil or amendments where the ground needs them. Sandy South Shore yards get organic-rich topsoil to hold water. Compacted or sloped yards get regraded so water stops pooling or running off.
We lay fresh sod in a staggered, brick-lay pattern with tight seams, roll it for firm soil contact, and give it a deep first watering. Before we leave, you get a care plan with a watering schedule, mowing timeline and fertilizer tips.
Most residential installations are finished in a single day, so the yard looks complete the same afternoon.

Sod Installation questions
When is the best time to install sod on Long Island?+
Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are ideal. Sod can go down in summer too with a solid watering plan.
How soon should new sod be watered?+
Right after installation, then 2 to 3 times a day for the first two weeks to keep it moist.
When can I mow my new sod?+
Wait 2 to 3 weeks until it has rooted, and keep the mower blade high for the first few cuts.
